Click Get started in the header. Sign up with your email and a password, or choose Continue with Google. Your profile is created automatically and you land on today's diary page.

I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password. Enter your email address; we send a reset link. Open the link and set a new password, then sign in again.

How do I switch between light and dark mode?

Use the sun/moon toggle in the top-right of any page. Your choice is remembered on that device.

How do I write an entry for a past day?

Open Diary. Click the date button in the toolbar to open the calendar. Pick the day you want — bold dates already have entries. Write, then press Save.

How do I dictate instead of typing?

Press Speak entry in the diary toolbar and allow microphone access. Talk normally, then press the button again to stop. The transcription is appended to your entry — edit it as you like and Save.

How do I add my location or the time to an entry?

Press Location to insert your city-level location. Press Timestamp to insert your device's current local time.

How does AI assist work?

Write a rough entry, even just a few words. Press AI assist. Tempogrid expands and tidies the text in your own voice — review, edit and Save.

Scroll to the attachments panel under the entry. Choose a file (image or short audio clip) to upload. Previews appear inline; the bar shows the 50 MB daily allowance you've used.

Paste any URL into an entry or bucket list item. Once saved, it renders as a clickable link.

How do I journal by chatting?

Press Chat in the diary toolbar (it also offers itself after login). Pick Voice chat or Text chat. Answer the questions Tempogrid asks; it uses your profile to pick relevant ones. When you finish, the conversation is written up as a diary entry you can edit and save.

How does hands-free voice chat know I'm done?

The assistant reads the question aloud and starts listening automatically. Stop speaking — after roughly 3 seconds of silence your answer is submitted. If nothing was picked up, it asks whether you'd like to try again.

Open Profile. In the Voice chat section, pick the voice you prefer. Save — the next voice session uses it.

Why should I fill in my profile?

Open Profile and fill in as much as you're comfortable with. Details like employment, workouts and hobbies decide which journaling questions you're asked.

How do I use the bucket list?

The bucket list sits down the right of the diary page (below the entry on mobile). Type an item and press add. Tick the checkbox when you've done it.

How do I turn on daily reminders?

Open Profile and switch on Enable reminders. Choose the time of day you want to be nudged and Save. Allow notifications when your browser asks.

Open Export. Choose a single day, a week, or your entire diary. Choose PDF or plain text, then download.

Who can read my entries?

Only you. Entries, attachments and bucket list items are locked to your account by row-level security. Attachments live in a private storage bucket, not on a public URL.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free: unlimited writing across the last 12 months, dictation, AI assist, attachments, bucket list, reminders and exports. Pro: everything in Free, plus unlimited diary history and all AI voice and question-chat journaling. Pro is $2.99/month or $29/year.

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Open Pricing from the menu or press any Upgrade prompt. Enter a coupon code if you have one. Card checkout is arriving shortly — until then, contact us and we'll switch your account over.

What happens to old entries if I stay on Free?

Accepted Answer

Entries older than 12 months can't be added or edited on Free. Nothing is deleted — upgrading to Pro restores full access to your history.
